Is it the cap or the actual pin that is seized? I have Nissin calipers with the stupid metal cap on the pins that always seizes. I always undo it by taking the caliper off the fork leg, and pull up a small workbench to rest it on, then give the screw a good wallop from a manual impact driver Thumbs Up

PlusGas (penetrating oil) applied to the pin can help free it off. Could use WD40 but IME it does naff all to help, friend of mine uses diesel instead of plusgas, never tried it though.

I found an impact driver helped when I had a stuck pin, also helped on my bros knackered cb250 so give that a go. If the pin is horrendously stuck then they can require drilling out or splitting the caliper to get better access with some grips.

When you do get them out, copper grease the hell out of them to reduce the chance of it happening again.

MarkJ yeah the clipers have them little covers on them. They actually undone no problems but the pins behind them are the ones which are doing my head in. shop did the pads last time and there is no sign of copper grease on any of the bolts or residue of copper grease which you sometimes find, so wondering did they even bother to grease them...... I may try filling the hole with wd40 and put the caps back on and leave over nite and give them one more go.... Failing that I will get my self a impact wrench and failing that stump god knows how much cash sending the calipers to be done at a shop..

Make sure you are using a good quality correct sized allen key too, if you have one then an allen head socket that fits into a 3/8" ratchet is even better. Your bike seems a little too new to be having issues with seriously stuck pins.

Impact driver costs <£20 and they can be a godsend, make sure you use it properly though. Fit a correct sized head to the tool, twist it in the direction you want to turn the pin and give it a moderate whack with a lump hammer, the caliper would of course need to be off the forks to do this.

Just a quick update.. The caliper which had the stuck pins in it is complety dead.. Last nite took the bike to a friends workshop and we had to drill one of the pins out as we couldnt get it undone. So I have binned the caliper and bought a good condition second hand one from a spares dealer I use. My mate reackons the last time the pads was changed ( by a bike shop ) they didnt use any cooper grease as the pin we manged to get out , once we had drilled the head off it was sezied solid with no signs of cooper grease or anything on it. So untill the replacement caliper arrives along with a new disk looks like I will be back to bog standard single disk brake set up up front , as luckly the bike had the twin disk converstion on it..
