Well i was riding my ay50 today and was getting 50mph out of it ,which i was highly surprised with as before i fitted a new ecu it was only going about 35.
anyway i was going 50 down this road then slowed down to turn a corner,as i accelerated around then corner i felt a loss in acceleration but my top speed was higher.

i was about to take a corner but hit a puddle at around 20mph.
i felt a big loss in power and as i stopped to go round the junction i accelerated and it just died.

ive took the kickstart cover off,and the variator and when i spin the variator axle its really hard and makes a sqeaky noise like rubber.

when i kick it over i have to give it full throttle to start and even then the revs are lower then tickover, any less throttle and it just dies.

Any help?
cheers jordan

I had a car which would die everytime i went through a puddle, i had to squirt wd40 in the HT leads and on the plugs, worth a try i suppose.

A. Water has got into the carb - drain the carb
B. Water has got into the electrics - Spray WD40 on all ignition componants.
C. Check airfilter to see if that is wet
D. Change the plug
E. Sucked water in and bent a conrod

Use your observations skills to avoid hitting the puddle next time Thumbs Up

Or,
because of your new found speed, it is highly likely that the bike is travelling faster than the fuel can travel in the pipe. Its a common problem on small bikes that not many people understand. Fuel can only travel so fast along the pipe, and if your going faster than that certain speed, well the fuel will go backwards. The squeeky rubber sound could be the powerband about to give in. What colour one have you got? Thumbs Up

WD40 in the plug cap also Smile

thats better

anyway
willing to bet it is 1 of 3 things

wet electric's
fubar plug
or the new ecu you put on is wrong and you dfont want to admmit it so youy made a story up so socmeone would suggest a way of getting round it

also...
no one has told him how to fix it...?

simples put a pink powerband in it and itll run like new Smile

theres a possiblity your ecu has watter ion it to so put the old one on and see if its any better
