Got 2 or more carbs on your bike ? Do your carbs need balancing ? (You might think not, but you never know !) Want to save money ? Then read on.......

I shopped around for quotes to have the carbs balanced by local bike shops, and they wanted to charge between £35.00 and £45.00 per hour to do it, and said it would take about 1 - 1 1/2 hours, sod this I said, there must be a Do it yourself kit.

I then shopped around some more and found the Morgan CarbTune II kit. ( https://www.carbtune.com )
I ordered the CarbTune II on Tuesday and it arrived today (Wednesday), super fast delivery.

After opening the package I set about reading the instructions that came with the product. ( see here --> https://www.carbtune.com/inst.html )
After setting it all up I proceeded to fix it to my carbs on my GPZ400R (ZX400D2, 1986 model).

First I started the bike up and let it tick over for a few minutes to warm it up. Removed the seat and tank, turned the tank 90 degrees to the right so that I could balance it on the frame of the bike and have access to the 3 adjusting screws on my carbs. I connected up all the pipes and was shocked to find out how out of balance the carbs were ! After about 35 minutes with adjusting the screws on the carbs I managed to get all the four carbs balanced with each other.

After putting the bike back together I took it out for a little ride, and you know, the product has made a big improvement to the response of the bike, it ticks over better too ! I was well pleased on how easy it was to do too.

I wish all products were as good as this !

The CarbTune II has saved me money already, Excellent / wonderful product !

Note: Make sure your carbs are jetted correctly and that the mixture screws are also set as in the specs for your bike before you even start with the CarbTune II kit.

when balancing your carbs set the tickover to 2000rpm and readjust to 2000 rpm between carb adjustments.this gets rid off any annoying flat spots .and when your balancing carbs and you can,t get them to balance correctly .ie revs all over the place ,then you neeed to replace the little springs on the linkage .

To be honest mate you sound like one of those adverts for car polish or something, you know "I love this product, it's 86% better then its competitors! And I would give up my children to get it again!"
Do you work for them maybe?

tank & Gti,

It may sound like an advert, but thats not the issue, after I used the product I was very impressed with the out come.

I was only putting my experience up on the product, and if you can't be more constructive with your reply, don't bloody bother posting your shitty comments, they are not helpful to anyone.

Ian, it's good to see someone being passionate about a product that they have used Smile
I've been thinking about getting some of those for ages, but wasn't sure how easy they would be to use or how much difference they would make.
However having read your post I shall now be ordering some (or maybe I'll come over and borrow yours! Wink ).
Still, it does sound a bit like on of those budget TV adverts though - you ever thought about a change of career? Laughing
