I have been re-building my bike over the past 9 months and have done the following

New Tyres front and rear ( 3 Months Ago)
Powdercoated wheels
New Wheel Bearings front and rear
Stripped brakes, powdercoated and rebuilt, bled and new fluids
Full new system and downpipes new gaskets.
And a lot of cosmetic parts.

I have kept some petrol in the tank and am going to change the oil and filter at the weekend ready for its MOT on Monday I am going to fully drain the tank and fill up. It has been stored outside under a motrax full coccoon cover , Forks seals and fork oil are getting done as well as the MOT but what else do I need to check ? Also will the carbs now need stripping etc ? Battery has been removed also !

Oil, filter, new fuel and see if it starts. Some people stick a spoonfull of oil down the spark plug holes in order to get some oil in there prior to pumped oil being available.

You might get away with it. There will be some gumming of the carbs but I'd bet a tankful of super through it would clean them right up.

If you're going to use carb cleaner don't go overboard as it can foul plugs if you use too much. Personally I use it as part of a service as I'm warming the bike before dropping the oil, then change the plugs afterwards.

Change the spark plugs.

I would try turning the rear wheel while the bike is in gear, with the ignition turned off, just to get everything moving in the engine before trying to start it Thumbs Up

Also, depending on what you did with it the battery may be flat. At the very least it would benefit from a long charge - might be deaded though.

Battery has been stood indoors, I ran the bike about 3 months ago to seal my new exhaust system for a few minutes funnily enough it turned over pretty quickly considering !!!!

That reminds me of my friends Honda X-11 and told by the mechanic don't do any fast turns on the bike after you've clocked so many miles, as the tyres still have sheen on them. Wolla, he tried to do his usual quick turn around 15 minutes later and bump to the ground but luckily he had frame sliders attached a week ago which saved the bike!
