got a 96 plate fzr600r with 20000miles , heres what happened when i went to change the chain and sprockets 4 years of all weather riding takes its toll on steel frames

i all sorted now quick trip to blasters ,mates think im nuts for totally stripping bike for surface rust. only went to change c&s ive ended up rebuilding bike.
will post pics when i get time might be selling it yet as ive got severely shattered wrist

after year and half of being off the road heres list what ive done.
frame,swing arm, wheels, shock and subframe to blasters

shock spring, swing arm, rear subframe powder coated

frame 2 pack satin black

forks rebuilt, bottom satin black newhead set bearings

engine shims checked and replaced as necessary as per 20000 mile service engine cleaned up and oil pipe at front of engine replaced due to rust, for stainless steel braided with stainless banjos and bolts. all covers satin black refitted with a4 stainless bolts

new stainless steel headers heat proof satin blacked

fairing, side panels sprayed in pearl black
started on tech 3 yamaha colours on nose cone and light covers

made headlight protectors from scratch as ones for sale were centimeter and a half to small

radiator 2 packed and blue alloy fixing fitted

new x ring gold chain alloy rear renthal sprocket set, new swing arm protector chain guide

new stainless steel 75mm jack up kit

I did the same I only planed to weld up a crack on my TDM's rack it has been off the road near a month and I have spent nearly a grand on it I think Shocked .

Definitely throwing money down the drain too. Thumbs Down But it will look good. Thumbs Up
