Hello All,

Since giving up riding 4 years ago, recently I've been wanting to get another bike.

But this time the bike will purely be a toy, so no need for a commuting long distance machine. Having only owned commuter type bikes previously I am unsure what to go for. But I know I don't want a 500cc parallel twin. Laughing

I want something that light, and not too highly powered whilst I regain my confidence, but on the other hand I don't want something that I am gonna get bored of quickly. I'd like to be able to take it on a trackday too.

Budget is around £2-2500. So suggestions?

Craig

zx6r b1h

wicked machines Thumbs Up

636cc, so plenty of punch for the road, revs nice and high so will be screaming at around 15.5k at the redline (sounds awesome btw), great brakes, great handling, though it has a very stiff rear shock which is a bit harsh on Uk roads. though I got on just great with mine.

Oh yeah, they are the best looking zx6r imo they have built to date ! personal opinion of course, some prefer the C model, fatter styling, slipper clutch, nicer rear shock for the road, but 2.5k you will be lucky

Wasn't your last bike something sporty (and very thirsty)? Confused

And red, I seem to remember it being red..... can't for the lif of me remember what it was though!

For that money I'd be looking at an older 600 Monster I think. Smile But you know how odd my taste in bikes is!

Jo, that was my second to last bike. My last bike was a very old Honda CB450.

The thirsty one was the GSX600F so not very sporty but was thirsty...

But Ducati... Thinking

I'd imagine it's some sort of data logging equipment.

I think a modern 600 would be abit too powerful, considering I haven't ridden properly in over 4 years.

Last bike I rode was a CB1000F a few months ago and I was bricking it!

How about the EX250 Ninja then? 2008/9 ones look to be at the top end of your budget.

Small, lightweight, not too powerful, good step up to something bigger once you've got your riding head back.........
