Right, last thread was on 3 pages and people dont seem to read into replies so I'm startin another thread.
I was wrong AGAIN! Engine is as dry as a bone... was just some gunk in the sight glass...
I have found a build up of gunk and oil by the gear lever, just below the sprocket cover...
Also, took tappet cover off, clearance between the rocker cover and tappets is about 1.5mm now lol so I reckon some wearing away of metal has taken place. Apart from that, filled with oil, runs fine but sounds nasty at the tappets. havent taken her out on a ride, just checking her on idle.
Will upload a vid of how nasty she sounds later.
I'll adjust the tappets and see if she returns to a ridable state... I may be lucky yet...

Well, that's why it wasn't leaking oil or smoking then. Razz

Good luck with the resurrection, you might rescue it yet.

Don't want to rub it in (much Wink ) but how do people run motors dry? I'm not the most maintenance conscious person in the world but I always check my oil before I ride. All these years of riding strokers has instilled an oil-checking fixation and it seems to pay off on 4Ts.

I want to see the pictures of the pistons and the bore and a short video of you wiggling the conrod.

As a temporary measure, a couple of pictures of what came out when you drained the oil through a pair of tights and the surface of the oil after standing for 5 minutes would allay my morbid curiosity.
