Never heard of 10v, so I'd say 12v as well. Will need battery for lights at idle. Bike may have been fitted with a big capacitor in place of battery - look for a big cylinder with two fat wires.

On all of my pit bikes, I always remove the battery, and run minimal electrics direct from the stator plate.

On the DT125, it may be similar to the TZR125, where it needs a battery. It's a strange one, but they have to have one otherwise it belts out like 16volts at low revs, then the voltage drops at high revs to under 12v.

Very strange setup, as soon as I added a battery, the problem was solved.

Yes you need a battery, it will be 12v not 10v.

Get batteries here https://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Yamaha/DT_125_LC3_Type_35A/86-88/

yes fit a battery and it will all work, at tickover the engine will struggle to produce enough electric to run teh indicators or horn which is why they work when it revs up Thumbs Up

I have the workshop manual for this bike and yes, you need a 12v battery.
