Arse. After sticking in the new battery, finding it is getting 17V at idle and >20v if the revs hit 2k, it looks like my reg/rec is shagged.

David Silver want £59 for a pattern part, found a new one on eGay for £33 delivered :-

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UK-SELLER-New-Rectifier-Honda-CB500-S-93-04-/200496043342

Other than going for a used part, anyone know of where I could get one cheaper? Not that I am averse to going used, it's just getting a guarantee it's 100% working is almost impossible.

£33 is a good price. I paid £26 for my last one. Worth doing some cross referencing as reg/recs are very interchangeable. Mine is off a 2000 R1.

I paid £80 for mine last week from ElectrexWorld. Comes with a years warranty. Not exactly cheap though, but they did send it special delivery so it arrived the next day.

Which is something i must do abit more often as surprisingly some parts on the duc are cheaper from dealers than anywhere else. Sprag clutch is one that springs to mind.
