I like to bodge things but a sump plug is the last thing I bodge. Make sure you have the correct socket on it with a tight fit and it should come undone. Make sure you are turning the correct way. Anticlockwise.

Also its best to use a 6 point socket, it will have the best fit possible assuming its the correct size.

Then use a breaker bar, Pinkyfloyd had the same issue yesterday and just saw his facebook that a breaker bar was enough to get the fecker off.

Could try warming it up. I personally would go at it with penetrating oil and leave it over night and then try again tomorrow. Thumbs Up

Not being funny but are you turning it the right direction? It's not that uncommon to turn a nut the wrong way around if it's upside down...

Blimey Laughing

There's times when you shouldn't confess to these things, I'm surprised you didn't strip the threads.

Keep a nut and a bolt in your tool box so you can see what goes what way if you need to as a reminder.

This confused me when first attempting to change the oil, surely most will have been baffled by this at some point Shifty Laughing

Another way to ensure you dont get it wrong again, use a ratchet Wink

Be glad you broke the tools and not stripped the thread out of the sump, alas, I have been victim to this on the front suspention undoing the damper bolt, after tightening the fuck out of it I gave up and got the old man, and as soo as he starts i realise my mistake Embarassed

To make sure you are going the right way. Always use a ratchet handle and use it to undo another bolt 1st.
That way you are always going the right way Thumbs Up
