My YZF600 again is playing up.

Previously it would bog down after giving it some revs i could give it full throttle and it will bog down and struggle to reach 50-60 .

The last few days when it done this just gave it the beans and then it would all of a sudden go like the clappers.

Any suggestions on what this is my thoughts as a very amateur mechanic is something stuck in the carb and needs cleaned out or the fuel filter needs looked /cleaned or the airbox needs cleaning?

any thoughts?

What's "Dry Fuel" Question

Coal. Thumbs Up

A small lump of coal in the fuel tank can improve fuel efficiency for the sake of a couple of horsepowers. It burns a lot slower than petrol which is why it lasts longer and produces slightly less power. It's also a quick fix if the engine is running a little lean, saves you tearing apart your injectors or carbs.

Don't use too big of a piece though, it might impair performance.

I gave this suggestion a try yesterday but came up with a couple of problems.

My bike now looks like Ivor the Engine - should I have used smokeless coal?

Also, I nearly fell off my bike when I tried to open the fuel tank to stoke it. Is there an easier way of doing this?

The upside is though that I can wrap my kippers up in foil - stick them in the fuel tank and they are ready by the time I get to work in a morning! Jobs a Gud'n.
