no, I won't let you take it off my hands for a tenner!!!

I bought it for my daughter and it was probably my worst buy for a bike.

£700 and got it home. Then to my friendly mechanic and £500 later for service, tyres, total overhail of brakes etc. £180 for new exhausts plus £100 for a can.

Now my daughter has given up biking Sad She dropped her 125, then it got nicked and torched and she is now doing driving lessons.

So I have a CBR400RR NC23 that has cost me £1500+ and I still need to get it mot'd.

What do I do with it, sell it at a huge loss? Track it (do they track well) or stick it in the shed for 20 years and hope they become a collectors item.

bugger The world's smallest violin player, just for you!

Try a gumtree advert on what you can get for it. Juat be honest on what has been done and spent on it.

You may get a good offer right?

I believe that they do take the track fairly well, may as well have some fun out of it, as you say if you sell it it will become a huge loss.

Could always put up an ad and see what sort of interest you get from it, and if something a bit closer to the 1500 mark then sell it on. Or look at what people will swap for it?

I have the same problem with my NC30, bought a poor bike spent loads of time and money on it and I still need to spend a bit more... It has now become a bike I shall never sell, and one day I will turn it into a mint example

There's your main advantage with gumtree. Stick it on there for what you WANT for it, and no harm done if it gets ignored, you've spent cock all on the advert.

I sold my scooter on gumtree and I had over a years use out of an 08 reg scoot that cost me £360, put it up for £450 ONO with the intention of getting £400. Posted the ad at 4 am, got the phone call at around 11am, had deposit in my hand the day after and had the rest / no bike the day after that. Can't complain! Just wish I'd made it 550 ONO!

Make sure you advertise it properly, try not to sound like the typical "SWOP U 4 A JAR OV PICKLES AND A RAVE CD" shit that you get on there

Dissown her.

You bought the bike for £700, so would somebody else. Getting it an MOT and talking up the work done to it in the advert will get it more money so though you'll make a loss no doubt, that's true of all bike ownership once you add on parts and labour for ownership.

Polar, some things don't add value to bikes, but some do. I think you could get more for the bike by writing your extras in it.

The things that have cost the money are things a buyer would expect. Exhaust system, brakes, fork overhaul together was £500+.

Do you have the old parts? Re sell the parts you bought perhaps a d hope to get 700 for the same bike. I don't think being 1 year older makes much difference on a 400 at a guess.

It's even a more expensive NC23. It's not a Babyblade, that was the NC29 (1992-onwards).

I'm waiting on the new can and rear indicators arriving.

Big_Ham, It's too nice to break and I haven't got the time or incliation to go down that route, even if it would net me more money.
