PASSED!! Wooooyey.

Cool

Spent 2 hours on the road prior to the test. 11.10 am at the test centre, the examiner checked over my docs and asked me where my paper-counterpart was.

Ohmyfuckingshitfuckbastardbollocks.....

I'd taken a photocopy of it last night and left it in the scanner. What I presumed was my paper counterpart was in fact only the DL25 slip from my Mod 1 (green paper).

Gut wrenching few seconds and the examiner comes back and tells me he can slot me in at 14.30 (fair do's! - the guy at the Bangor test centre is sound)

Panic over. My instructor gave me a few more hours out on the road at no extra cost and I got through the practical with 2 minors.

Very very very happy. Insurance just paid for and I'll be jumping on my new beastie tomorrow for a nice 300 mile trek back up to North Wales.

Mr. Green

It's a great feeling to pass! Still seems surreal to me.

Top job.

I always wondered why the instructors were so insistent on checking paperwork before every ride!

Well done.

Nicely done! I'm actually really suprised that they didnt take your money and tell you to rebook the test because of the missing paperwork!

Thanks for all the congrats.

I rode home the entire way home from Reading with the biggest grin ever carved on my face.

I inadvertantly popped a wheelie leaving the M6 toll booths and subsequently shat my kecks.

I cant believe there are bikes that accelerate even quicker than mine, so much acceleration.

Do need a new rear tyre now though as the previous owner squared it on motorway commutes. Been quoted £130 (ouch) Sad Full set for the car costs less than that!

I bought a bike tyre this week to get through the MOT, and they're not cheap - Pirelli Corsa £140 fitted. Still - it pays for itself in being cheap to run Wink

I couldn't believe it the prices. I said no to a replacement avon as it was £140, I asked for a 'budget tyre' but was talked out of it as they're shite so I agreed to a Michelin for £130.

And a pair of front discs and pads for £200 - wtf?!! My wallet's already taken a beating with the repairs I had made to the old 125.

I took up biking to save money!!

Enjoy the new bike. My mate had a similar age SV for a short time, really nice bike (especially with the Leo Vince exhaust it had Wink ). Unfortunately big bike tyres aren't cheap, the Bros is fairly cheap in that respect (£164 a pair of Bridgestone BT45s fitted) but it also makes a LOT less power than an SV.

When tyre change day comes around, the SV should cost me about £150 the pair. Thumbs Up

What's all this £130 for a single tyre business then? Thought it sounded a bit steep...

Probably doesn't help that I live in the arse end of nowhere and National Tyres (who used to be the cheapest around here) stopped doing bike tyres a fortnight ago.

Just out of interest, how many miles should I expect to get out a rear tyre (once I've stopped using my red powerband everywhere)

Also, @Paddy, if you can get a set for 150, how much does the front normally cost you? And is it from an and independant garage or a chain?
