Been looking for this BBC '40 minutes' documentary on line for years and I found it today! It would appear that loads of other people have been searching too - so here it is!
It's horrendous - in some ways - but it's history. Bear in mind it's 26 years old . . . . . Can't help thinking that, somehow, life was better then. . . . . . here's the link.

Brilliant find!. I've looked for that documentary a few times after seeing clips of it during that Johnny Vauhan TV heaven/hell show, but didn't have any luck.

Thanks for posting it Thumbs Up

LOL, bugger ... you should have mentioned it to me.
I saw it a few weeks ago, and I presumed you had seen it.

I wasn't sure of your historical geography around that time, but in fact, at one point when someone was tumbling down to the beach, I could have sworn I heard one of them call your name, and I was like, "What?" ... I rewound it several times, I looked and looked

... but I couldn't tell one Bee Gee lookalike from another Laughing

(besides they all had far too many tattooes)

I thought it was strikingly reminiscent of "this is spinal tap"

Thanks for that OP, I had that on tape once, but I lost it in a house move incident in the late 80s.

I wonder if they're still going now and how many of them are still alive.

It's a chain tensioner not a dérailleur, because the rear forks don't have horizontal drop outs, this means that you can't move the wheel back and forth to tension the chain like you normally would with a single speed. Actually, looking closer it is a dérailleur, but it's being used as a tensioner.

I was born in the eighties and love the fact everyone seemed so cheesy, even genuine hard men.

Suppose its just looking back to era's and being too young to actually have experienced it all.

I do remember my uncle looking the spit of the lads in the film (not that I've watched it all yet). He was "hanging around" a club of the same name at that time too.

Will have to have a proper watch and see if there is a glimpse of him.

Ta.
