Not sure whether or not to go this year, or indeed which to go to as quite close to Leeds now.
Tickets - https://www.seetickets.com/content/reading-leeds/?filler3=topbanner

Leaked line up (apparently):

I can't express how meh that looks compared to 2010.

Offspring would be awesome. But them alone would not be enough to convince me to spend £200+ and tolerate 3 nights surrounded by 16 year olds in "hilarious" wellies pretending they are hardcore.

Pay, Glastonbury is much worse for silly wellies and pretentious people Sad.

Line up really doesn't inspire me.

If I still lived in Reading, I'd be getting a ticket just for the lack of hassle involved in going.

The only thing that looks good on that entire line up is Jane's Addiction, and I don't think I'd want to go to the effort of going to an entire festival just to see them TBH.

The Offspring, Deftones and Rise Against are the only remotely interesting bands on there. The rest are just meh Rolling Eyes

Still glad I'm going to Sonisphere Smile

I went to Leeds festival the last time The Offspring were there.
They were excellent, but don't think I'll do festivals anymore, think I've grown out of having piss land on my head, being pushed about and smelling beer farts, not to mention toilets Shocked

I wouldn't mind Isle of Wight this year though.

Was just thinking about that, sometimes have a pretty good line up - always liked the idea of the 'history', though presume none of that left really. Tickets sold for this year anyway.

Tickets still available for Reading. Still tempted in case I end up entirely failing to attend Glasto.

Wonder if any festivals do actually have good line ups this year Confused.

Poor line-up IMHO.

I mean, Pulp? Is it 1995 again?

Looks mostly shit, but then saw that Mr Rollins is in the alternative tent. Spoken word set perhaps?

Tickets still available - obviously other people agree on the line up.
Any UK festivals that haven't sold out people reckon are worth going to?

Could be tempted do an European one - Maybe benicassim? Though more likely, will be too busy this year to do anything interesting Sad.

2008, but I was a bit disappointed by Rage (more the crowd) and VERY disappointed by Metallica for the bits I saw. I could swear I went to see Manic's instead, but a quick look at the line up poster - Mettalica seemed to be playing some softish rock, to which all the couples were doing the whole slow-embrace-shuffle/rock to.
Rage 'experience' was much better in 2000, along with the line up generally.

Having wanted to see rage for years, and having loved Audioslave so much along with being drunk, seeing them at reading was like the best thing ever, bearing in mind i was only 18 or something at the time so had not ever seen them before.

I was pretty near the front for rage and enjoyed it. Got quite beaten up though. It was fun. I went to manics instead of metalica too, I think Reading is a bit too big and airy for them and got bored.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

I was very near the front and didn't get nearly beaten up enough Wink.
I was in a mosh pit which progressed to the front - to the point the pit stopped at 3 people from the front.
Go back to 2000 and people were so jammed in that there's no chance you could start a pit there - but the cameras showed 8 separate large mosh bits. And was far from a headliner then too.

Oh and in 08 I presumed they were going to finish on "Killing in the name of", so crowd surfed out to avoid the crowds - then they carried on Thumbs Down.. used to be fine, but now they make you walk around the back

Went in 2009 for Billy Talent, Faith No More, some of the smaller bands on sunday and the Prodigy who tore the place up followed by Arctic Monkeys and they were awful, drunk frontman is not a good idea. those two acts should have been the other way round as Prodigy were outselling Arctics and it showed when the crowd halfed at the end of their set.

Sunday was alsorts but finished with Radiohead, who where really good but cost me £10 in a lost bet as I said they don't play creep anymore and haven't done for years only for them to start with creep!
