One piece leathers

Hi all, looking at getting some one piece leathers, I'm going to be trying sone different ones on in a shop some time soon but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my questions.

Are they all typically the same size/fit when looking at UK sizes? ideally i'm looking to find some decent ones and then stalking a set on eBay for a fraction of the price but like new. I just can't see how a 44 size could be a perfect size for chest/waist etc.

Also, any pros/cons for a one piece rather than a two piece?

Sizing generally tends to be across the board. If the leathers have a lot of expansion panels or uses a lot of stretch panels, you can probably get away with a size smaller.

My MX1 alpinestars 1 piece is a size smaller than what I normally wear (50 as opposed to 52).

If you wear a back protector and a base layer, then keep to the same size as your jacket.

Pros?

1) You don't get a constricted bladder/waist as you would with a 2 piece
2) They look cooler
3) They contain your organs and keep tight in the event of crash which may keep pressure on any wounds. I need to dig out the study on this.
4) A lot of the 1 pieces come in perforated options so are very comfortable during sweaty summers - even if you are wearing black leathers.
5) I have found that they are more comfortable to wear over longer distances than a 2 piece.

Cons

1) If you crash, there is a flip side to point 3. Your medics will need to cut through the leathers to get them off - they fit tight.
2) Unless you are wearing a base layer, getting it on and off is a bit tricky.
3) Try taking a dump with 1 on! Always head for the baby change or spazzo toilet because you will need all the space you can afford.

Horses for courses, but I'd always go for a 1 piece.

The fits obviously vary a fair amount.

I tried some Arlen Ness ones on in HG. They fitted my perfect, and will probably be the best fitting pair of leathers I'd ever worn. Why didn't I buy them? Way to expensive.

They were a 40/50. I came home that day and bought myself a set of RST Pro Series 1pc suit for £330 on ebay. They retailed at £450 last season.

Generally the sizing will be the same but the FIT will be different.

Its like normal suits that youd wear to work, I used to sell them. The majority of suits come as a suit, in that the trousers are always 6" smaller waist than the jacket size, so a 38" chest will come with trousers with a 32" waist. The majority of the time you cant mix and match sizes, if you buy a 38" suit you get 32" trousers. They can be tailored to be a couple of inches bigger or smaller, but they wont take a set of 34" or 36" trousers off another suit for you. And for the majority of people it works fine. Sometimes you get the odd person it doesnt work for and they would have to buy from the limited range of suits which you can get mix and match from. Like 00lodomo... said, the sizing is the same probably, but fit will vary somewhat between brands, just like it does with work suits. My guess is that 1 piece leathers are similar, and will fit the majority of people fine.

Been looking at 1 piece suits myself recently and RST do some really nice one's for around the £350 mark but my current 2 piece RST suit zip came away from the pants/jacket connection and the zipper on the actual jacket broke few months ago. Don't know why they use them really small zippers, they're shit.
