what about the K&N filter, the aftermarket exhaust and richer map you're using?
I think the stock claimed MPG is constant revs at constant motorway speeds. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!

I think there in probably lies the answer!
My VF would do well over 50 mpg 'taking it easy'..... but my interpretation of 'taking it easy' would be rather more than 'under 90mph', more like 'strictly legal speeds'.
Bashing By Passes between roundabouts, consumption could easily drop to single figures.
Its fuel injected, but the magic mixing device is only that, a mixing device, metering the fuel needed to create a charge of the right proportions to produce the power you are asking for with your fright hand, depending on the system's sophistication, it will 'self tune' to some degree, and under a lot of circumstances it will meter the charge more accurately than a carburettor, BUT, efficiency gain is pretty small compared to being a bit more delicate on the twist grip! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
