Dunno about that, but my parents got a kick start put into their BMR R60 for a trip accross Africa. Don't know if it was a standard aftermarket item at the time, but is on the left hand side.

You could maybe get something made up to replace the electric start, not sure how easy it would be... or you could just bump start it Smile.

yes i imagine it could be done most high compression fourstroke offroad bikes come with automatic decompressor system .500 cc single cylinder less effort that a 125 two stroke to kick over .so i should imagine it could be done .but everything is always at a price .

Personally i think if you really feel the need to lose the weight of your electric start, bearing in mind that you will still have a fair size battery on a ZZR, then your best off just Bump starting it, as your going to add weight to try and convert to a kickstart. Id feel so stupid on an 1100cc 4cyl having to kick start it, but im sure that its physically possible. I know that trying to bump start a bike as big and heavy as a ZZR1100 especially on you own is a stupid idea, so thats why i think your best keeping your electric boot. Even some race bikes are retaining their starter motors these days, as its a balence between weight loss/ hassle. I think youd save almost as much weight, as removing the starter by changing to magnesium engine covers and alloy case bolts.

I kick start would be theoretically possible, but i doubt any one makes one for it. You would save a good chuck of weight by removing the battery and starter motor, Then I assume it would be possible to modify a kick start system from a vaguely similar bike, and mount it where the starter motor currently is, using the same drive to the crank.

Would be a difficult and costly procedure, would leave you with a kick starter in a funny place, but would be interesting.

Kickstarting a large cc 4 cylinder bike is alot easyer than starting something like a 400cc single.

Why are you going so crazy with weight reduction on this bike anyway?
