Made the mistake of not moving my 125 out of the yard while spraying the GPZ. Now my 125 has little paint/lacquer particles all over it and it's ruining the sheen of the paint and chrome. The particles themselces are not noticable until you get close but from a distance it looks dull and just doesn't shine up properly anymore which is gutting because she's a sexy beast when she's gleaming. Anybody suggest the best way to remove these particles without damaging said paintwork/chrome etc. ?

I would use white spirit or petrol to do it. Be careful and don't rub it too hard.

you have no choice but to use tcut/cutting compound on the painted parts but on the metal/chromed bits you can use thinners to get the overspray off.

tried T cut, it seemed to do a little bit but with a lot of effort. Also tried petrol (haven't tried thinners yet) and it seemed to do nothing. Maybe if i break out the Farécla G4 it'll be more effective? being heavier grade to t-cut that is...

Don't use abrasives like t-cut on chrome or metal, use thinners or paint stripper.
On paintwork you'll just have to polish it off as best you can.

FFS, if you guys don't know what the fuck you're talking about, it's best to say nothing. Rolling Eyes

The method for removing overpsray is clay bar & instant detail spray. Any other method is going to do more damge to the parts.

good to see ZRX61 is in his usual friendly mood Very Happy , however he is usually right when it comes to paint related stuff.
but i would be tempted to use some farecla compound & some hand glaze to finish it off,if the op doesnt want to attempt a spray job. (not everyone has access to decent air tools & the american products that he uses)
PLEASE DONT USE PAINTSTRIPPER as dafrostyoneone (EDIT : just realised he meant unpainted metal parts, my apologies frosty) suggests, it might end in tears.& avoid T-cut, might as well spend an extra couple of quid & get some decent compound.
in fact the halfords cutting compound (in yellow tube) is half the price of the mud in a tube & will remove overspray no problem.
it will dull down the finish though, hence why you should finish off with hand glaze or detailing clay.
forget the usual waxes polishes available, use the stuff car detailers use,
cheers,
GAZ

This X100 T-cut will just mess it all up, a decent hard claybar like the Meguiars would be good at it some of the Sonus are too soft.

Metal though you can use thinners to get it all off, just be wary of your chain or anypainted parts or stickers, as it wont be that good for those

This is why I don't reply to threads about computers & all that oteer electrical voodoo stuff, I leave that to people who know WTF they are doing.

Not sure if ya get Mothers in the UK, but their claybar kit is better than Mequiars. Smile
I wouldn't even bother with compound & all that malarky, just wash the bike & then go at it with the bar & instant detailer spray.

It's the bottle of stuff that comes with the clay bars in the Mothers kit.

This kind of stuff:
https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_804729_langId_-1_categoryId_165682

You need some thing to lube the paintwork for the clay to work & that's what we use.

Just don't use spray wax as lube
