my M8 has an Nsr125r 2001 uk model, problem is when you wind the throttle on quickly it revs up and then dies, i have tried adjusting float height no difference, tried different settings on the mixture screw still no different and cleaned whole thing a few times now and again no difference.
any suggestions ?
could it be the regulator/rectifier unit or CDI?

Have you checked for blockages in the fuel lines?

bloody ball ache it is, its only just started doing it, if you rev it slowly its fine but if you really give it some it goes up and then dies.

Is it warmed up correctly? Any aftermarket parts on it?

Hi

It is probably running lean in the mid range. Check the position of the needle jet, or maybe just drop the clip on it down one notch.

All the best

Keith

Was it running fine when he got it ?

Did he make any adjustments to anything ?

As for the needle jet, you need to undo the top of the carb were the throttle cable goes into the carb and pull it all the way out, this will have a piston connected to it with a needle (long) on the bottom, this needle has groves with a circlip in one of them, move the circlip to another grove, moving the circlip up makes the needle longer, moving the circlip down makes the needle shorter.

If the bike was working fine before, and this needle has not been tampered with, then this is not the fault.

I suspect Keith is right. Check your fuel lines for any blockages though, clean out the filter as well in case its that.
