I got it working properly now. \o/ Very Happy Mr. Green

I tried and failed to tighten the carb drain screws and fitted the right hand side panel. Now it works fine. Confused

For those of you who don't know, the bike had a really bad midrange in high gears, it would cough, splutter and stutter etc..

Anyway lessons learnt, bikes are funny things sometimes. Laughing

Did you change the HT leads or anything? Or did you entirely fix the bike by fitting a side panel.

That GPz is a total cunt, you know. At least I have all of your filth out of my garage now.

How does it feel to ride now?

What's the GPZ like? I'm looking at buying one because of cheap insurance and cheap bike Smile

I hope they aren't notorious for blowing up!

Maybe it was very, very slightly loose.

Felt stuck enough when I poked at it with a screwdriver, but it might have been just enough to seal it.
It could have been enough of a leak to effect the pressure possibly? Wouldn't have thought so though, because there didn't seem to be that much evidence of petrol pissing out.

There are loads of different models of GPz, 300, 400, 500, 550, 600, 750, 900, 1100. They are all very different.

GPz550

I like mine a lot, it's surprisingly quick but the brakes are shit. Although Kev said the brakes did well on the MOT, mine got 160 and his blade 190. Confused
It's cheap to run and insure, the engine is bulletproof; apparently air cooled bikes are more reliable. The engine started with relative ease after the bike had been in storage for over a year. Exclamation
I got mine for free and paid £80 for another one which I used for spares, so you can get them very cheap. The calipers are well know for seizing though, not happened to me yet (/ me grabs tree) but the bike I’ve got for spares has seized calipers.
Anything else you want to know?

Would you like to make a bet Mike?

I would have thought that even if the seal was bad it would only affect that carb and consequently that cylinder. Confused

Hi

No, was downgeared at one time. Gearing is now standard. Toying with the idea of up gearing it for top speed runs.

All the best
