Hi all. My son has a 59 plate Skyjet 125 ater he was riding for a couple of hours he turned the bike off. 30 mins later he went to start it and the electric start would not work but the kick start did. after riding for a further 30 mins the bike died.
I have checked the battery, it only had 4 volts in it, I replaced the battery and the electric start drained it. Has anyone got any ideas please.
Cheers
Dave.

Its chinese, it could be any number of problems.

The cheapest and simplest solution would be to burn it and buy a decent bike from a known brand.

As much as I agree with the above the best place to start would be to strip the bodywork and have a look at all the electrical connections and clean up the earth contacts etc to make sure that the electrics are as good and clean as possible.

Either there must be some current leak from one of the electrical devices or the battery is not getting charged properly. Charge the battery overnight then put it back on the bike. Check the battery voltage with the engine of using a multimeter then start the engine and measure the voltage again. With the engine running the voltage should be higher, if not then there's a charging fault.

I'm sure somebody with more electrical knowledge will now fill in the gaps!
