I assume you're beginners so anywhere, really. You'll be on the nursery slope and gentle runs with an instructor for the mornings, then either doing the same thing in the afternoons. You might try to go down a difficult run in the afternoons, but that's a pretty quick way to end your holiday.

I don't think there's any particularly cheap place in Europe any more, so if you want to do it cheaply you're best off booking a cheap holiday deal rather than focussing on any particular place. Quality of snow is always a gamble, but most resorts have some snow making equipment on the main slopes. They might not turn it on, though.

Drinks are still cheap in the bars in Bulgaria. Generally the Norse countries are very expensive to drink in, and bigger resorts are more expensive than smaller ones. Andorra is still vaguely cheap to drink in. You'll be on a package tour with a rep who will organise evening activities, with a good few pub crawls thrown in.

Bear in mind that the price quoted up front on the website is normally just for the flights, transfers and hotel. You'll also need to budget for kit hire, lessons and a lift pass. There's usually a beginner package that does all of this for about £200.
