I have never heard such a reputation.

I have ordered many a part from Overclockers over the years and never had a problem.

I for one would throughly recommend overclockers.

Never had any problems with service or returns, and I've been using them for years. The rumours of their reputation appear to have been sparked by some bloke who was sacked and went off on one.

I'll be using them again. Thumbs Up

Been using them for years, always had excellent service. Yes their forum may sometimes be a little bit "hush hush unless its good rep" but there you go.

For example, ordered nigh on £700's worth of pc equipment 12:01am Friday ish just gone (money just went in to my account- payday Smile ) and received said goods Saturday. ( I did ask for Saturday delivery mind). Even then, delivery times are very very decent. IIRC I did send one or two items back through no fault of their own and they were very good about it.

I certainly recommend them.

Used them several times without a problem. Never had a need to return an item so I can't comment on that side of things.

My neighbor used them and he had a awful time trying to return a computer case that was damaged in transit. Never used them because of that, always stuck to ebuyer mainly.

Bought a sound card off there the other day, took 2 days to get to me, so ebay like post service.
It was OEM so there was no box... but even so they packaged it shit too. so ebay like again.

Not impressed with the sound card either lmfao its just as good as my old external one. Laughing

Used them a few times back when they were one of the few decent stockists for higher end components then had a few serious problems. These days I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Used them several times, only fault I've ever had was when I bought incompatible ram for my motherboard, as they don't take ram back unless its faulty I couldn't do anything.. But that is fair enough it was my mistake.

Apart from that they deliver quickly so can't complain.

Overpriced IMO. They used to be a bit specialist for for high end stuff but nowadays, you can get whatever by googling it and finding it on ebay or some other site.

Scan is usually very good, only problem with them is they use city link delivery which is a PITA for domestic deliveries.

Heard the rumours about their lack of care towards their stock etc but only used them once and it was grand, no major complaints.

OCUK arent cheap once you price delivery, nevermind to Northern Ireland.

They do free delivery to mainland users if youre an active forum user but thats useless for me so ill continue to avoid them until they become competitive again for me.

I ordered a graphics card from them back in the day.
I only went to them though because it was the only place i could find the card and for fairly cheap.

Other than that I always go to ebuyer.com

dont know if thats true or not but their rep was well earnt.

dunno how they are these days but years ago when i used to play pc games a hell of a lot the scene was obviously heavily into making sure we had the best bits and most of people i knew in the league had problems if they had to return items to overclockers.

parts were cheap and arrived quick enough but if there was a fault thats when the problems started.

an example:
one of my friends ordered a mobo, chip etc.. turned out th mobo was DOA so he sent it back recorded delivery.

3 weeks go by and no word from overclockers so he calls them and they say it never arrived. he checks and it was signed for a couple of days after sending to contacts them again only to be told that person doesnt work there and they have no knowledge of it.

long story short it wasnt until he threatened to get small claims court/trading standard involved that they mysteriously 'found' his mobo and sent a replacement.

that was around 6 years ago.. he's never used em since.

personally, i've never had a prob, but then i've never had to return anything.

to still be in business id imagine they've probably cleaned up their act now but still makes me think twice about ordering from them.

I've bought a few things from them for years and never had a problem. I live 5 mins away from the shop though so I can speak to them face-to-face. I also know the sons of the owner and the owner was in my mum's year at school so I know I can always speak to his sons and they'll probably sort it out if I have a problem. Seem like a decent company anyway! As people of said, they are sometimes varnished with a bad rep but I don't see how.

"face to face" was one of the problems I had. The staff I dealt with - and owner - impressed me as nothing less than lying scum.
