Removing stickers from body work?

Didn't think it would be worth posting in 'General Bike Chat' so thought I'd post it here, I have 3 stickers on the tank of my Hornet, one stupid one saying "unleaded fuel reccomended" another one with a load of writing and a data tag one.

I think they look ugly and the stickers look very dated, was wondering if I did remove them I would leave a different colour paint underneath.

The paint colour is yellow.

Use a hair dryer to heat them up then peel them off. Use wd40 to remove the remainer of the sticky stuff. I took the same ones off my yellow tl1000r. The paint underneath was a slightly darker shade of yellow but after a wash and wax it was fine.

Wash the bike then wax it and everything should be dandy.

If you try and remove the datatag one then doesmt it leave a removavble bit saying void??? something like that??

Have a look at some old prints, the first pigment to fade is yellow, normally not light fast. If it has faded a good going over with colourfast T-cut might help.

Removed the stickers today, the Datatag was the worst one, took about 30mins for that one alone. Looks a lot better now though
