Its the oddest darned thing. My leather jacket has shrunk. It was a perfect fit last autumn!

I hung it in the hallway when the rain came and pulled out the textile jacket which I have worn for 4-5 months now. All over Christmas and such. My leather jacket hung on its own, in a nice cool dry environment. Yet when I went to put it on today god damn was it a tight fit. A tad to tight for my liking... Had to wear my textiles again today...

I feel the need to write to the manufacturers... This may be a production line fault... Leather doesn't normally shrink does it? Maybe the lack of moisture that it has suffered this last few months has made it dry and shrink... I am jolly well upset by all this.

I told my missus who gave a rather unsympathetic snort and muttered something about 'weight watchers'? Hmmm maybe thats what I need to do.... Hang some weights off of it and let it stretch overnight right?.... That must be what she meant... Cleaver woman that! I guess if any of you lot out there that are currently facing similar problems of shrinking leather jackets, theres your answer. Weight ons the jacket to re stretch it.

Are you sure you haven't over dabbled in xmas cheer? Or, been weightlifting a lot since then, I did find my jacket got a bit tighter when I increased my weight loads.

I'm not looking forward to attempting to get into my 1 piece this summer. I fear to many pies and to much cider may have an adverse effect on my god like figure...

I have a problem that the manufacturers just cant seem to get right. Sadly with middle age arriving I am starting to spread and to compensate for this I have had no option but to admit defeat and buy a jacket thats a size larger than my current one. The problem now lies in the fact that my new jacket will be a tad long in the arms.

How can one make the manufacturers understand that its my gut thats grown not my arms!

Take up Hillclimbing, us guys are fanatical about our weight. When I found out that I was up for hip replacement surgery I Googled " Is titanium heavier" Google then predicted "than bone", I knew that hillclimbers had been there before me!

This is a common problem with all clothing, if you dont wear it, it shrinks, especially if you keep it in a wardrobe !. It's usually accompanied by a reduction of the length of one's todger !. Smile

Whoah there !

That should be front page news, with a team - nay Institute of four-eyed, white coated scientists researching a cure round the clock, pausing only for coffee, Facebook and smart pills.

Years ago I was in Lewis Leathers' Great Portland Street shop behind a great big fat bloke who was trying on a 'Bomber' Jacket. It was obviously too small for him but he was determined not to leave without a purchase. In the end the assistant suggested that he fill his bath with saddle soap, jump in and roll about. He bought the jacket and then left leaving all of us in the shop giggling.
