Send it back and buy the correct exhaust.

You could have the flange cut off and rewelded though.

Well, you could, but it isn't worth it. The exhaust is obviously wrong for your bike and could do the engine some damage if you do manage to fit it.

Send it back, or put it on ebay again and buy the right exhaust for your bike this time. I made some suggestions in your other thread and im happy to link you to the right ones if you need me too.

Return it unless you got it so cheaply that you are happy to risk the chop and weld.

are you sure it will mount on the bike even if you did get the down pipe flipped round?

The only problem I've seen when trying to put the exhaust was the down pipe being vertical, other wise it fits fine.

My friends about a year ago had a gilera runner and he got an exhaust for free that was for the suzuki katana and therefore he had the problem im having now so he flipped the head around and rewelded and it was fine.

and yes I can take both exhaust to get it done making it more accurate.
Tig and mig?

And it probably will cost you most of the remainder to get it cut and correctly welded plus all the running about.

And?

Did you buy the right exhaust in the first place? The point I'm getting at is " is it as described or does it not fit the bike that you bought it to fit".

Can you link to the auction?

The reason being then is that it is made for the Minerelli engine version (Branded as Gilera) rather then the Piaggio variant which you have. The exhaust is entirely wrong with your bike and due to two stroke harmonics will more then likely DAMAGE YOUR ENGINE. Get the right exhaust or on your head be it.

I can't see that it will damage the engine. Theoretically you can get pretty much any exhaust to fit any bike with the right amount of fabricating.

B, if you are sure it's what you want to do then it's entirely up to you but you should probably just return the exhaust and buy the right one, as you wont be much off the £ invested for a new system after all the fabricating.

As others have said, any local independent engineering / metal fabricators will be able to do it. Ask around, a lot of them probably wont advertise mind.

It'll likely cost you about £15- £20 cash in hand, and obviously if you do it and its slightly wrong you wont be able to sell the exhaust, so you may want to weigh up the total cost Vs. selling it on, (you may even get more than you bought it for) saving your pocket money, and buying one which fits.

edit: Ive just seen your photo saying where you want the cut.... if its just the flange you want then it'll literally be the top 25mm you need to cut off -not halfaway down the pipe. If you start messing about cutting on the curve and trying to fit, well its possible but the £ start to go up.

Dont assume the fabricator knows what you want, suprisingly they dont survive on odd jobs and probably have other things to do I'd take the bike and physically show them, and you may want to leave the bike while they do it, oh and likely it wint be there top priority compared to other repeat customers, so expect to have to wait till they get the time to fit you in.

hopefully I will be taking the old exhaust with me to get the LEO VINCE TT welded the same as the standard that came with the bike.

My self wont be touching the exhaust as I do not want to mess it up and just waste the money spent on it.

thanks for the response.
