Looking for my first bike but notice that a fair few in my price range (£1000-1500 for a ZZR600/Thundercat/CBR600) have cracks and damage on the fairings.

Is this an easy repair for a competent bodyshop, or do they get left in this state because they are a pain in the arse?

Cheers Cool

I suspect that most get left as they can't be bothered to fix them on slightly older bikes. Plus, the chances are reasonably high that you'll only go and damage them again at some point.

i have repaired some cracked and scuffed fairings on my 1989 FZR 400
i used fibreglass repair kits and did some with plasti-weld

easily done and tough as old boots

most good bodyshops will do it for you but you should save the money and do it yourself, really not a hard job

look up plastic welding on youtube and it shows step by step how to do it
