Hi all sorry if this topic has been posted before
im new to all this bikeing i have got my cbt on 1'st aprail
i have got about £1500 to spend on a bike 125cc
i have found a bike that i like but i will need to import it in from china the company im using is farspeed industry group company limited china
they are prepared to ship me the bike its a YAQI KC118 Engine Size: 125 cc Super Sport new USD1335 £850
thats shipping cost to Plymouth port,UK 180 USD
sample fee 250 USD
custom fee 125 USD
they have said they will post me COC they said i can take this COC to register it and get title from your Ministry of Communications.
they have said its legal to drive on road,because it is EEC approval.
is this all i need to do this or am i missing something can anyone give me some advice on this at the mo im in to minds do i buy it or not as its a long way

why would you go through all that trouble to import a piece of shit that you'll only get about 700 for once you sell it, providing it doesnt explode before then?

Would strongly advise you to avoid Chinese bikes and go for something Japanese and second hand. Chinese bikes really aren't worth the hassle, however good value they might appear.

so do you know any good dealers where i can get a nice 125cc

what do you think about this

I'm hearing too much Engrish and too little sensible talk in that OP.

Just look on Biketrader and get a CG125 or if you are looking for something slightly sporty then an older RS125.

Do not touch any Chinese bike. The metal used is made from recycled scrap cans and is of a very poor quality, a lot of the work is done by outworkers and it is not unusual to see a wiring harness made up of six inch bits of wire soldered or even just twisted together, the chrome will rust within days. There are many on here that have fallen into the cheap Chinese bike trap, I doubt if even one person will recommend buying one. A bike with loads of plastic is not a good idea for a first bike as you will crash as all new riders do. A new bike is not a good idea for a learner as you will crash and when it is time to move on you will loose a lot of cash.
The ideal bike is a second hand Honda 125, a good reliable engine and box and it will hold value.

Of course like all newbs asking questions you will totally ignore all advice.

Sounds like you've not really ridden before?

I'd do your CBT first and then see what type of bike you want after.

You'll likely have a CG125 for your CBT - you may prefer the sit up and beg style bikes rather than a "sporty" 125 with a crouching riding position.

You may wish to just not bother with 125's and book in for your test.

Basically, what I'm saying is, spend some time on a bike then think about it

if you're gonna go for a bigger bike after your 125 i suggest buying a CG as i would to anyone. doesnt matter how much you spend on buying a CG, you'll get that money back once you come to sell it, providing you dont pay over the odds!

at the end of the day, a 125 is a 125. it's a bike to learn on. you wont be fooling anyone on a 'sports' 125. apart from the aprilla rs125 which is a proper little hooligan 125 but a 2 stroke which is harder to maintain (or rather needs more regular maintenance).

TL;DR

buy a cheap cg125 then sell for the price you paid once you've got your licence.

Just to agree with everyone else so far (i.e. avoid chinese unless you really do know what you're doing) and to add:
Get something you're prepared to crash more than once (you will at least once - it's unbelievably easy to come off no matter how careful you are).
Try to avoid faired bikes (i.e. fancy plastics and screens etc - the "sporty" style that you're looking at) as these plastics are generally wrecked in crashes, and are expensive to replace (if do get one, at least fit crash bungs to it, as they could save some of the plastics). Get a bike without them, and you won't have to replace them.
And as with a car, don't buy a new one unless you're prepared to pay a huge amount of money in depreciation.

Did it come with a manual/wireing diagram
Did it come with parts list / contact details
