Hello

I need to draw pretty basic 3D drawings of possible products, these products are pretty basic.

I have no experience of doing any 3D work so looking for some advice. I use photoshop and illustrator a lot in work and have short experience using cad 2D.

Any advice for a beginner on what software to look at and where to get it. Wink

Solidworks is probarbly the best, but not the best for product forn

For detailed drawings i'd recommend solidworks

If you are focusing on aesthetics then use 3D Studio Max

Studio max can be downloaded for free search google, but solidworks is expensive, your uni/company will have it though

Hope it helps Thumbs Up

Catia is a very good piece of software but I expect it would be overkill for what you want to do. Solidworks is also a good bit of kit Thumbs Up
