I've had the email addy I use on here harvested (nsr@giffould.com) as I've only used this email address on here I presume it's from here they've got it.
Unless it's from the old forum which those germans or whatever nicked.

So how about making people log in to view email address's to prevent harversters/spiders/bots whatever you call them from nicking them. (This is presuming you're not just selling our emails to your porn buddies Razz )

Busted Embarassed Wink

I'll see what I can do about hiding emails from robots. There's an option in your profile to hide your email from everybody, but I don't think that's what you meant.

Nah, just so it only displays it if you're logged in, which should stop robots etc. Don't see why other people really need to use the email.

Now, who do I redirect nsr@giffould.com to?

Just an update: the spam harvesting problem is getting worse so email addresses are no longer displayed at all. If you have the 'allow other members to send me email' option in your profile enabled people will still be able to email you but they will not see your address - the email is entered via the forum just like eBay's "ask seller a question" form.

For all those of you having a problem with spam I can totally recommend POPfile from https://popfile.sourceforge.net/

Once set up and trained it is amazingly good at identifying spam, It's been working wonders for me - see attached stats pic.

Hi

Seems that the amount of spam I am getting has dropped greatly over the last week. Seems to have worked.

All the best
