I thought it was traditional for the bride's family to pick up the tab for a wedding, but I guess we'll have to. Mad

I would gladly give up the days off just to never hear another word about the inbred posh twats getting married. I detest the royal family, they should be given a council flat in Hackney and told to get f*cked.

She's a bit mannish, Middleton, isn't she? In that sort of English girl's school hockey captain sort of way.

Still, at least one of them is a little bit masculine. Smile

I was reading through the terms and conditions of my new job.
It mentioned the extra bank holiday this year due to the marriage of William & Kate. It took me a moment but then I realised who it was referring to. First name basis, since when is it a requirement to know them like that?

I think there is a difference between patriotism and getting excited over some bloke who I have never met's wedding. The only reason I would get excited about a wedding is for a free bar and a chance to shag a bridesmaid, if I am not invited it sort of makes those points redundant.

I'm not excited over it, far from it.

The "royals" are hardly advertising it though, as per usual it's the media. If people want to whine and cry about it, it's the media they want to target.

You've seen the Wedding Crashers, right? Wink

Mind you, isn't the bridesmaid gonna be a 7 year old cousin?

The royal wedding should be interesting if lots of anarchist protesters turn up like the newspapers have said will happen.

Of course, the Telegraph, Express et al would never overestimate that threat for the purposes of selling a couple of papers, would they?

Laughing

You know, like how the reported thousands of "Anarchists" led to 6 arrests...

What pisses me off is that:

Soldiers on 18k/yr are getting made redundant
Meals on wheels for the elderly getting canned
Services getting the chop
Taxes going up

...and yet we're paying millions for the Royal Wedding and the extra police required.

I wish Britain was a republic. I wouldn't wish anyone ill in regards to a marriage, but I'd rather not be kept informed about it on the news, when there is more serious stuff going on.

I do think it's a waste of tax payers money, I also think that government specialise in wasting tax payers money, and will continue to do so - come what may.

Does everything spent on the wedding not make its way back into the economy though? And so I suppose back into the pockets of the public?

Patriotism is pride in the country, not pride in the inbred tarts who've been living in the lap of luxury for the past god-knows-how-many-years by virtue of having been born into a specific bloodline.

Nobody can say I'm not patriotic - I even bought a celebratory mug!
