Hey Guys,

I bought an Italian made NSR today! The little sticker under the seat says its a NSR 125 RL . I have read most of these posts but haven't heard of this model. It looks a lot like Guest Taka's (in www.nsr125.com) bike and have the same colour combination. The bike was bought and used in Italy, all warning signs are in their language.

I think it was purchased in 1993, only done 14500 KM and engine is in gorgeous condition (never raced!).

Does this model require de-restriction? Can it be?

Can anybody help me find new fairings and stickers as these are not too good?

Also can somebody help me find the front visor (original) that sits on top of the double headlamps, somebody at the customs had ripped this off my bike!! (in sri lanka)

Oh and please help me with side mirrors (mounted on the front fairing) as these too have gone missing Sad

Please help me out. Thanks very much!!

hi my name was formerly Taka on the old forum. Good choice of bike. i like that colour scheme. I've also just bought a VFR400 (nc30) in the same colours. My NSR is also italian (i think they all are). My NSR also says NSR 125RL under the seat but i've always been told its an RK (perhaps its the same thing?)Confused

Regarding derestriction i'm not sure whether mine is fully derestricted but it goes fast enough (95mph)

Perhaps you should try a breakers yard for parts

out of curiosity how much did you pay for your NSR?

Hi

Think that the RK and RL are just the model years, with the only real difference being cosmetic (mudguards and paintwork?).

An Italian model from that time should be full power.

All the best

Thanks Stew and Keith for the Info! I thrashed mine around a bit last night.. seems pretty quick after about 7000 revs, but had a slight miss about 6000 revs, any ideas?

Stew.. I got an excellent deal I think.. I paid GBP 750 , hope you get a better price as this bike is super! Do you know of any breaker yards that can export parts to Sri Lanka? I need some mirrors and front visor badly.

How do NSRs perform compared to Yamaha TZR 125R s'?

Is our NSR slower than the newer ones?

Thanks guys!

I've got a 91 italian import NSR125F, I think it's at least slightly restricted, but I've got no idea how Crying or Very sad ... It ill get to about 85 downhill with a tailwind.

My flate mate used to ride a TZR125R... it was restricted so the engine wasn't as nice, but the suspension and brakes were a fair bit better than my knackered NSR.

Oh I don't think mine is restricted although i know for a fact that no restrictions were taken off cause the previous owner was this old guy who didn't know what a restrictor was.. hehehe . No mods here, everything stock.

About top speed - I just did a run 95mph down a flat road and still accelerating! .. but because of instability i was pretty uncomfortable and could not keep on the gas.

ABout brakes... front brakes absolutely suck on mine... sumthing is up i'm sure!

I wonder *IF* there could be anything i could do to make it accelerate faster cause i'm not really interested in top speed.. not with the roads you find in Sri Lanka!!

A bigger rear sprocket will give you better acceleration.
