I'm seeing more riders do this, and not always on supermotos.

I know exactly what you mean.....

One person does it, they all have to have a go.

Only seen one dude do it this weekend though, and he ended up binning it.

Only time I put my leg out when I'm still moving is when doing a U turn at the bottom of our street when I park the bike.

Pointless.

i think it depends on how you learnt to ride,
i do it, because from the age of 3 or 4 untill i was 15 all i ever rode
were dirt bikes, raced moto-x etc, at 15 i got my licence and started out o the road,
so the first 12 years of riding were spent doing that exact thing,

its pretty hard to change your ways when you start out on dirt bikes

It strange, never ever done it on my sports bikes but when i got the KTM 990SM am finding myself doing it (if you are not hanging off the bike going into a bend).

I'm not sure if its just the different riding position and the SM is more pushing the front into the corners, this is the thing my riding atm must look fecking stupid as im used to sports bikes i tend to go out and ride like a sports bike but more lately am sitting more up right over the bars not hanging off so much but pushing the bike out from under me if that makes any sense.

Looked quite weird to me, in fact does it actually help when you're turning? I find putting weight on the pegs help me turn better, but maybe the leg out is causing the bike to bend into it as well.

Certainly not worth doing in them boots and jeans! Laughing

I do it on the green lanes on the YZF, usually when im going balls out, and sliding the whole bike about.

On tarmac, I rarely do it, unless im banking the bike right over, to the point the tyres start to let go and it slides, at which point, my MX boot is there, heel dug quite firmly into the floor, to hold the whole thing rubber side down through the corner.

The video is a joke, from what I watched, the bloke is a straight line warrior.

It makes you look like a bellend IMO.

It looks to me that the guy sticking his foot out restricts him, I reckon he could lean a lot more if he kept his foot on the peg. So it must be to "look cool".

Saw a ped rider doing it the other day. I just laughed.
