WTF?

I listed my ‘non-running’ ZX7R on Ebay. Went to make a post on here in classifieds and when I refreshed the page it was sold!
Surely this isn’t going to be as straight forward as it looks.
The guy in question has no feedback, no previous buy’s or sales. Thinking

Sounds pretty suspect tbh. Probably some sort of automated bidding spam thing. Could be legit though and just be a coincidence that they bought it as soon as you put it on.

Email and ask them how they're paying / collecting.

Sounds like a scam tbh, how much did it sell for, the full value asked of it?

Was it a make offer/buy it now type thing?

I just put it on there for £750 and bam, sold. Shocked

I've sent a message to them asking if this is a genuine purchase.

If the price is right it's plausible. I put a Fazer 600 on Ebay and it sold in under quarter of an hour. Bloke turned up, handed over the readies, threw it in a van and off he went. Approach carefully but don't write it off just yet.

That is a pretty good price, could be genuine.

Here's a tip, don't accept western union or deal with anyone still living in Africa Thumbs Up .

I hope its genuine but pessimistic me thinks that its gonig to be a PITA. If you do have a problem with the sale and have to relist remember to set the buyer preferences to help stop it happening again.

Where do I change these?
What do I change? Things like, ‘can’t bid unless good feedback’ ?

You can filter out bidders with negative feedback. I don't think you can stop people with zero feedback though.

I am also sceptical - auto bidding programs are on the rise. Expect an email in a week requesting you to send the bike by raft to Azerbaijan.

Yeah, it would be a good buy IMO. For £1000 she’d be back on the road no problem. Tax and MOT Thumbs Up

If this seller is mucking about she’ll be back on there and I’ll link ya.

Cash in hand. No exceptions. He turns up. Give you cash. You give him V5 part and keys. he foooks off never to be seen again. that is the only way you want to do this.

Anything else, just tell him to do one.

You'd get a fair bit more than that breaking it, could be legitimate.

I always put at the bottom of my adverts that any bidders with below 5 feedback will have their bids cancelled, and I won't sell it to them if they win it, so don't bother bidding.

Probably against eBay rules but fuck 'em, they're not the ones getting ousted out of money.

I've stood by it too, had a guy the other week win an item for £90, checked the feedback, had 2 and had been a member for a week, and they were feedback from sellers too so worth sweet FA. Logged into paypal, refunded his money, sent him a message telling him why, job done.

In theory, it's no worse than a random guy responding to a Gumtree advert.

In practice, Slavislav will a cheque from Bank of Elbonia offer you in exchange for bike, Cousin Nardo will collect in vegetablefruits van, much honesty, no problems!

It could happen. I bought an item that had only been listed a few minutes. You would do well to be wary though, as advised above.

I did similar for a CCM - bought pretty soon after it was put up as it was a good deal.
Seems someone else clicked 'buy it now' a few seconds later and thought they'd got it - emailing the bloke asking when they could pick up etc.

I've sold bike to people with 0 feedback without problem. Some have made their ebay account especially to buy one of my bikes, so it's no always so bad as it seems.

I think it'll turn out to be a fuck about. I had a few bits and bobs on ebay and all was going well but I pulled the plug as winning bidders paying more than expected ended up being scammers, then had a dispute and thought fuck this. I'll keep my stuff until someone I know of wants it. Still waiting for the oppurtunity to get rid of a SHURflo RV water pump, however.
