https://driving.drive-alive.co.uk/driving-in-france.htm

GB sticker: UK registered vehicles displaying Euro-plates (circle of 12 stars above the national identifier on blue background) no longer need a GB sticker when driving in European Union countries.

Headlamp converters are compulsory.

Lights: dipped headlights must be used in poor daytime visibility. Motorcycles over 125cc must use dipped headlights during the day at all times.

Minimum age for driving, provided you hold a full UK licence, is 18 for a car and a motorcycle over 125cc and 15 for a motorcycle under 125cc.

Motorcycle drivers and passengers must wear crash helmets.

Motor insurance: third-party insurance is compulsory. A green card is not required but your insurer should be advised of your trip.

Radar detectors are illegal in France even when they are not in use. If you are caught with a radar detector in your vehicle, you could be fined, have the detector confiscated, or even face confiscation of the vehicle. So make sure you remove any such device before taking your car to France. This does not apply to SatNav or GPS because these devices do not detect radar speed cameras, they simply tell you where they are, information which is freely available.

Replacement bulb set recommended.

couple of searches on google say no
as the CBT isn't a license just a course, possibly if you have a full car license
as your over 19 it may work the same as here

best find out before you go or hire a 50cc there you can do that on a Uk provisional

NO

You cannot drive abroad without full licence (either A1, A2 or A).

CBT as the right to ride a motorcycle on public roads is only recognized and valid in the UK.

Hi,

It makes no odds that you have a full car licence, your still riding on a CBT and do not have a full motorcycle licence (A1, A2 or A).

Cheers,
Shaun.

I've never seen any statement which says that you need a full bike, or, indeed, car licence to ride a 125 in France. I looked into this before I passed my test and it was almost impossible to find a definitive answer. I'd still like to find out though.

Does this mean that 15 year old Frenchies can get a full bike license? How does that side of it work?
