Heyas
When buying gloves do you always go for the name or what they look like, an example like this
https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Cowhide-Leather-Motorbike-Motorcycle-Gloves-Medium-/380330438127?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Gloves&hash=item588d75edef#ht_3894wt_905
Im not buying these , but i wonder if without the name are they as good, my rst rift summer glove i bought last year are a touch long in the fingers, but i cant keep pumping out £35+ on gloves. Opinions pls.

Honestly, £35 isn't much on gloves at all.
Think I spend about £40 on my winters, (Joe Rockets), they've lasted me 3 years every single workday!!! All weathers. Im more about waterproofing and protection for these.
Summers, only about protection and airflow to the fingers. The name doesn't bother me so much, I can't warrant spending £100+ on summer gloves (or £200+), but if I found a set that I really liked the look of, with adiquate protection, i'd pay out. Generally, i've looked at the end of the summer gloves, and bought a set in the sale for £30-£50. But I really wouldn't complain too much about £35 gloves. As long as you look after then, they should last for a good few years, in which case £35 is bugger all really.
Name isn't so important. As long as its comfy on the fingers inside
It gives good protection
Material feels good and strong and well finished stitching.
Far more important than a name for me. I've seen fancy material soft soft leather gloves for £150+, with bugger all protection. Would I buy them as they were branded and nice and soft? No chance. |

I never use gloves anymore, but when i did i used a pair of oxford gloves that was suposedly water proof and wind proof only cost around £30 but sure enough they split and stopped being water and wind proof and was a waste of time. not only that but they was big and bulky, making changing gear not harder but uncomfortable and i felt like i had less control of my brake and clutch....hense not wearing any....but if i do buy some more it'll be these baby's

I tried a pair on and WOW!!! the actually help the movment in your hand and i loved them shame about the price tag
but i would definatley reccomend them they seem really well made and are very comfortable and well the looks just complete's them it was like half my hand was from a terminater movie |

I wouldn't trust £20 gloves personally.
I have Alpinestars GP Plus' somewhere. They shrugged off a low speed fall in the rain, so I rate them at the moment, even though they aren't CE approved.
Your hands are usually the first things to touch the ground in an off, and you only get one set of hands. For me it's most important to spend out on at least helmets boots and gloves. ____________________ My Flickr |

I am currently loving these
https://www.newenough.com/image/path/5492/Default.jpg
Where not cheap at £50 but they are get for summer days comfortable and the mess area lets wind through keeping your hands cool. There is thick leather on the palm I think would stand up to a fall too. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. the video says it all these are the safest and best protecting gloves out there...as for the looks thats your opinion but personally i'd say if you have the££ these are the best
you can tighten the exo skeleton on them which keeps your hands in good posture and can stop things such as arthritus
anyone else got these or agree? |

As for bulkiness with gloves, my gloves are fab!
Yes they are IXS (cheapo brand) but they are between summer and winter gloves thickness, fully waterproof, hard protected knuckle and don't look to bad either. They have two straps on them, one to keep them in place and one to keep the wrist section watertight. Perfect gloves! Just hope they survive crashes well. Think mother bought them for £45 and unless my hands sweat ridiculously, I will be wearing them through summer.
They are called IXS Bristol for those interested. Haven't crashed in them but the leather does seem soft. Almost like chamois leather. Would highly recommend and if I do ever happen to have a crash with them on and they dont rip or anything, then I will keep buying them until they are discontinued. Fabulous! The bloke said they are their best selling gloves.
Tried on a pair of dishes rubber gloves, you know the ones... Marigolds? They are bike length and do not let water in whatsoever. Thinking about buying a pair of summer gloves and sticking these underneath for winter as you will get great feel. Shouldn't get too cold either as they don't let water through so it will be hard for heat to get out.

Have these as my leather gloves :
RST Blade's
https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/product_images/rst_blade_glove_blk.jpg
A bit too loose for my liking, were a tight fit when I bought them, but lost a bit of weight, as well as wearing them in, and they're about for replacing..BUT cant afford to atm, and they're in pristine condition so no point in doing it til probably next year (will get new ones in the sales before next summer )
I got them from here clicky but they've been superseded by the "Blade II's". Don't know much difference, but the II's look a little longer on the wrist so may be a bit better for the guys in the power ranger outfits ____________________ Bike: Currently Bikeless... Gahh |
