After writing off my Bandit in feb, I looked around for something different. I was lucky enough to find this rather tidy 2002 Transalp just the other side of town from me.

The guy I got it from has really looked after it. Cost £2000 with a full set of hard luggage thrown in. Rode it all over town yesterday and I must say it handles like a dream and is SO different from the Bandit. I like it better already Very Happy

Why, thangew!

It has put a real smile on my face after a really crap time recently. A well made bike, and the V-twin engine makes for a refreshingly different ride from a fairly standard inline 4 on the Bandit. Sounds better too, a nice low growl.

Nice Smile

Was tempted towards a transalp as my first "big bike" but it was just too similar to the Varadero (125cc) I'd already spent a year on.

State of the roads round here, that sort of bike is looking better and better again though!
