Broke the original one when I came off.
Ordered a replacement, which arrived promptly.
Put it on and put the bolt in, which then snapped inside.
Tried everything I could to get it off, but no luck.
Prying it off wasn't working, so I sawed through the bolt.
Managed to get through the bolt, but still the lever won't come off.
Opened the gap even wider, and STILL it won't come off.
Enclosed is a picture, any ideas how I can get this damn thing off?
I can't figure out how it's still stuck on.
It's driving me nuts.

Theres a groove in the splined part and you have probably still got the one half of the bolt sitting in it.

Pry it open a bit more. Try using a tyre lever or two screwdrivers together.

Could not get the damn thing off. Got a guy with a prying tool coming up today and he'll hopefully be able to knock it off. Time will tell.

as you are prying the top of the lever, you are increasing the pressure on the botom part of the spingle. Notice how to top isn't in contact but the bottom is?

I Agree with donny, just take a hacksaw to it and take off one side

Hacksawed the right chunk enough to snap it off. Amazingly is stayed stuck to the cog. After 5 days of trying this and that, finally got it off. Got another one coming, I'm praying that this one doesn't have a similar fate.

I'm not patient enough for things like this.
