Hi all,

It's that time of year again when I spend more time that I'd like gathering insurance quotes.
I've done the normal Go Compare, confused.com searches and find some cheaper than my current insurer, some vastly more expensive - same old same old .... ...

Bennetts came in at around £100 cheaper for fully comp but I hear bad things about Bennetts.

So - I was wondering if anybody has any glowing endorsments of any insurance company.

For reference - I currently use Dial Direct as a broker who came up with a quote of £300 for fully comp for a ZX6R (T reg) with legal cover, European cover and insurance on any other bike etc, however £350 compulsary excess (no voluntary).

cheers

John

Have you tried www.thebikeinsurer.tv?

They've always given me better comparison quotes than the others.

In terms of service, I found H&R Insurance pretty good, normally got straight through to talk to someone, and they always seemed very competent.

Devitt online quote was £250 for my bike. Gave them a ring, 2 minutes haggle, down to £105. Thumbs Up

+1 for www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk.

I insured with Swinton Bikes this year, they gave me the cheapest quote, then added £30 cashback into the deal!

Anyone got any views on Devitt for a 3rd party insurance? They come out stupid cheap for me, but I have never heard of them, no idea if they are a horror story company or not (which to be fair, most insurance company's have horror story's but ya know, nice ta know).

Compare the market is currently better for me than the bike insurer too. Although the bike insurer guarantee to be the cheapest, somehow...

Pretty sure Devitt have some sort of attachment to Direct Line. Either that or they share the same underwriters or something. Anyway, the other half uses them. They were cheap enough but no idea what they are like in a claim scenario.

I am with them for the last 2 years.
Devitt is not an insurance company tbf. They are insurance brokers so they "compare the market" for you and come up with better prices than websites.
I didn't claim anything so I can't comment on it but I know they answer the phone in less than 30 seconds.

Different insurance companys will be better or worse for different people. The cheapest quote that came back from thebikeinsurer.co.uk was five times more expensive than quotes I've had from Devitt.

I used a comparison website last year for my insurance and swinton was the best quote for me. However my renewal quote this year with them has gone sky high and others have plumetted. Swinton want nearly £600 full comp, I'm only paying just over £300 with them now. Devitt on the other hand wanted something like £105 fully comp. Can't really argue with that, but as has been mentioned already, I've never heard of the company so have no idea how good/bad they are.

EDIT: Quick google explains that Devitt is a broker bought by the Churchill group in 1999.
