Nothing wrong with the textile one. Many people ride with a textile all year round. Its just a matter of choice.

I have a textile with a removable lining for summer use. But I also have a leather jacket so the textile I use over winter unless it rains.

Personal preference. But if you do decide to have both then look at it as an investment. You look after the jackets and they'll last you years. I just bought a new leather one as I've expanded a little more than the old one allows, but the old one was given to me by a mate who had it for a good few years, I've had it for 3 years and I'll be keeping it for when I take the eldest out on the bike and she'll probably wear it in a couple of years when she does her CBT.

Personally, I prefer riding in leathers when it's not pissing it down, especially in the summer. But very much personal preference.

I'm now too fat for my leathers so I am riding in my textiles all year round. Only thing I can say is:

Heavy rain for leather means it goes crispy, shrinks and takes forever to dry, not to mention 99% have loads of air vent panels and perforated leather which lets water in so expect a cold wet knob (I find that the ladies aren't impressed by this) if you are caught out in the rain.

I like leathers, but I prefer textiles for convenience.
