Ok, Alfa's are made from cheese, i've got 4 dents on the top of the front wing where i've leaned on it whilst working under the bonnet. I could cause a dent from my little finger, seriously.

There's enough space so i can feel under the dents but can't push them out. They're very shallow so what's the best way to remove?

And i'm not paying someone.

Thumbs Up

I was watching them vids a few weeks back but a lot of feedback on forums suggest it doesn't work too well. BUT my dents seem to be the type that are so shallow, so may be worth a shot.

Have you tried it?

Cheers.

Plunger?
Seem to recall reading somewhere that works quite well.

Ok thanks everyone. I'll try a plunger although i may try the compressed air method. Tennis ball seems like it would be strong enough? Will Youtube it.

I doubt either the plunger or the tennis ball would work. Has anyone here actual experience of that?

Park it outside tatters (thread below) and the old biddy visiting over the road will do it for you for free Mr. Green

It's not a BMW so she probably wouldn't bother. Wink

What about something like this? Can get them for about several quid in Halfords i think. I've not heard a lot of good things but again, my dents you can barely even see. I have the take a few steps back & have the right lighting to see them. Which will be a pain when i try to pull them out.

Crap quality but you get the idea.

On a serious note heat gun and air duster or dry ice does work on shallow dents

Depends entirely on the dent, if the metal has stretched a lot then it will look crap no matter what you do.

Compressed air and a heat source is widely used on tinternet but no direct experience.

I tried using some dry ice from my lab (solid carbon dioxide) and a heat source on a dent in my car door (just out of interest, car is worth nothing) and I couldn't get the dent to pull. This was quite a sharp, narrow and long dent though, larger, softer dents are supposed to be easier to sort using this method.

Will try get some tomorrow, although i doubt the camera would get a good photo of them as unless you knew they were there you'd never know. I have to step back a few feet & view them at a specific angle.

Even running fingers over them you can hardly tell. But they're there nonetheless.

Haven't done it yet but definitely going to try it.

Just ignore them. I have a huge dent in my wing, and door, also caused when I was fixing the car. Although it was my foot kicking it, rather than just leaning over it which caused the damage...

Go for a drive to a popular tourist destination over the weekend, (the more busy roundabouts the better). Drive within the law and if you can set up an in car video, great. Sooner or later some tw@t will hit your wing (esp if left wing, on a roundabout). Claim off their insurance. Thumbs Up
