Passed my test in May and bought this the next day for £1000 with 35K on the clock and a full years MOT, Dyno Jet, viper race can and K&N filer. Had no real problems with it since I got it so I think I got a bargain!

Here she is: https://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz118/chrsjcb/IMG_0200.jpg

She's a bit tatty around the edges though as you can see and I want to get it looking really good over the summer (well, what we've had of one).

First on the list is to sort out the guys ghetto DIY tail tidy where he hacked off a lot of the undertray with a hacksaw.

Going to take it all off and cut it perfectly, sort out the rear indicator mounting - you can see the wiring on and the tape that I think must hold them on!

Also get rid of the Monster can cover on the back because it looks a bit gay.

Any suggestions would be great!!

Cheers!

I can see them and it annoys me though!

The manifold is blowing a bit so I need to patch that up...

An extra 300 could of got you my G2 Razz

You got a nice bike there mate, I've had mine since 20k miles and now she has 42k and never let me down. Regularly serviced it and have never had a problem.

Maybe to improve yours a little bit a origional sticker kit? Looks abit plain atm.

Damn... Oh well.

What would I have to do for a full service?

It all possible with a Haynes manual?

Peace of mind thing so I know something isn't going to let me down.

I just tend to do the basics, Oil and filter, Air filter and plugs. There is bound to be more you can check but I do these mainly. When i first bought mine I also put new pads all round.

Looks very clean and tidy as it is Thumbs Up. Ebay is you friend for cheap undertrays and tail tidies (laddo picked them up for his 6r for £15 and £6). Then just add/modify stuff as it takes your fancy.

When I get a new bike I tend to give it a a couple of rides to note down any niggles, then after a couple of weeks give it a full service, pull all the plastics off and go around the loom looking for bodged wiring then stick a 12v outlet or two on before I think about any mods.

On yours the only things that would be high on the to-do list would be to sort the undertray/tail tidy, maybe get an integrated rear light /indicator unit (if you can get them in smoked for that model) replace the various stickers with ones in the same colour, maybe get some shorty levers and get the wheels powder coated a different colour when the tyres need replacing.

But mods are such a personal thing go with whatever you like - but please don't cover it in a Monster Energy sticker set as it will devalue your bike by 87% Laughing

Thanks for the suggestions!

I'm putting together a little list of things I'm going to do;

Firstly:
Cut undertray perfectly, prime and spray in kawasaki green.
Take off indicators and make sure mount hasn't been bodged too.
Repair small hole in manifold.
Get an integrated brake / indicator setup.
New rear tyre - I'm treadless on some parts in the middle and it's been plugged.

After:
Powdercoat wheels in black.
Possibly respray the rear all green as the black wasn't masked off very well and I think it looks out of place.
Kind of want a smaller can on the back, something louder! (It's pretty loud already but quite deep)

Full service when I get a chance.

Me personally - Polish the rims (there flaking anyway) well polish the outer rim and leave the centre?spokes a solid colour. black/green

Put a standard screen on it (I f**King hate any coloured/smoked/doublebubble etc screens Laughing )

remove the monster can, paint the hugger black (or sell it and replace with a black one!)

Sort the bits you said (numberplate hanger/indis etc)

Maybe look at some mor interesting sticker placement/better decals

Thats it. Ride it. Thumbs Up

oh yeh, stubby that can Thumbs Up

Remove monster can.
Smoked Screen.
Powder coat wheels black.
Hugger black, or carbon effect vinyl wrap.
Maybe paint lower fork legs black and brake callipers gold/black too.
Sort the under tray/tail tidy.
Flush front indicators.
Some fake pazzos.
Pillion seat cowl.
Replace white Kawasaki logo on tank with a black one.
Stubby Can and get powder coated black or get a carbon one.
Maybe rear-sets and pillion pegs powdered black.

Nice bike though, I'd cope riding it as is.

Go the fairings off last night and put some putty over some very small pinholes in the manifold to stop the blowing, sounds much better now and it feels like it's a little more responsive.....

Could just be a placebo though.

OK I want to stubby the can when I tidy up the undertray....

Has anyone stubbied a can that didn't have a band around the end?

The end is riveted but the rivets don't secure a band in place like other cans i've seen.... It should be able to be re-riveted once i've cut it down, right?

Also, some little scrote stole my left crash bung at some point!

35000 miler..

I would suggest you do this

Arrow Replace rear shock! Within a few months or hard riding, you'll have found out that the rear shock will have lost its damping. Whilst you're at it, you can change the front fork oil and seals too. That way your chassis is running sweeet as a nut.

Arrow Check downpipes for ANY signs of corrosion/rusting and deal with that! Best to sort it out now before the salty air attacks in november!

Arrow Keep the hugger green and polish the lips of the rims. Failing that, black hammerite it and rim tape will set it out.

If you do want original decals...

Give These guys - The Image Works a ring and they can supply you an OEM decal set for about £60 and they're very good quality. I've used them numerous times before.

F1-3 ninjas are very good bikes for the road and for a grand it's pretty much what it's worth.

Electrically, nothing goes wrong. However, you may wish to address the impending suspension issues. Valve checks are usually done every 16k miles. But the engine is a peach to work on since there's room to get at everything.

Don't get the standard screen because it just deflects the wind to your chest! If you want a double bubble, tinted black or clear will do.

Braided lines and a clean up of the calipers will bring the stoppers into ship shape condition.

Right, had the fairings off over the weekend, got the small holes in the manifold all sealed up with some putty, have taken it for a hard ride since and it's still sealed. I would like to replace it though if I come across a bargain.

Stubbied the exhaust too, went to 10" as I didn't want it to look too short;

Trying to sort out a tyre change at work today too.
