Hi, at least I'm not the only one into tuning mopeds!!
Hmmm, where to start...
I've helped many people tune their shitfight, I mean Speedfight 2's, some last, some dont.
A rule I've always told everyone:
PICK TWO OUT OF THESE THREE:
FAST
RELIABLE
CHEAP
e.g. You want fast and reliable? It won't be cheap; You want fast and cheap? It won't be reliable.
Starting with the parts, if possible, try and stick with same manufacturer, just makes stuff easier.
Parts:
70cc Kit:
The Malossi MHR Replica - Fast and reliable, made from ally, average price around £250 (sorry, cant find a link to it, it's 5am, I'm tired...)
The Polini kit - Not as fast but made from cast iron, more reliable, about £100.
Variator:
The Malossi multivar includes (normally): variator, rollers, slider, slider guides, clutch torsion spring and new belt. Rough price is about £60 ish.
Or
The Polini kit Includes: 2 clutch springs, 2 sets of rollers, variator, variator slider and guides and new belt. price: £70.08.
Exhaust:
I dont really trust Giannelli to be honest, too many problems with them with too many friends.
If you want a nice sounding and good looking exhaust, best few options:
The Leo Vince ZX I run this exhaust on my ped at the moment, has a nice sound, not too expensive at £121.00
The Yasuni R Nice looking exhaust, not too loud, E marked for the countries that need it, like for the MOT here in the UK, average price £150.
Both the above exhausts are 50cc/70cc pipes and will run on either barrels.
Carb:
As standard, you will have a 12.5mm carb, so not a bad choice.
Rather than that mounting kit, just replace the inlet, rather than forcing it through a larger pipe into a smaller pipe.
A good carb that I've never had issues with,
The YSN 17.5mm carb. Price of £46.00
Which can be used with any of these inlets:
The Doppler Inlet, Just straight swap, no gaskets and standard reed block still used. Price of £19.00
The Enki Inlet, Comes with new reed block and gaskets. Bargin at £25.
Next up,
Clutch and Clutch Bell:
There is a variety of different makes and models to chose from,
I prefer:
The Stage 6 Clutch as you can remove and change clutch springs without having to remove the clutch bell and clutch everytime. Price is around £65-70.
or you have:
The TNT clutch and clutch bell assembly. Fairly average piece of kit, will help with acceleration, but not that much really, just makes it smoother. current price: £48.00
Last but not least for now (it's been 45 mins since I started this, I need sleep!):
Gear-up kits:
By the time you have the above parts on and running, you will soon be maxing out on the gearing and not being able to go much faster, so you will need a gear-up kit.
The Top Racing primary gear-up kit. Already pre-pressed, ready to go straight in the ped, price of only £43.00.
I can help you with most parts, but for now, I'm going to sleep!!
Post a reply and I'll let you know what I can do.
Hope this helps a bit!

Got to assume that you are over 17 if in the Uk due to the larger cc kit.
But why not simply swop to a larger ped if you want more bang for buck...
200 euro + yours will be a good start to something that will be more reliable. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

Hi Sleazy,
I never said that you had the Giannelli Next or Extra, I was just saying that I don't like the exhaust's in general.
I thought that you wanted to tune it for the most speed possible, but if you want it to be able to do at least 60kph everywhere then I'll provide you with my current set-up for my Piaggio which is doing just over 75mph (about 120kph) on GPS.
Polini Cast Iron 70cc kit,
Leo Vince ZX chrome exhaust,
21mm Carb (you would be fine with a 17.5mm carb, my standard carb size is 16.5mm),
Stage 6 V Force 3 Reed block, For your speedfight you can only buy something similar to This.
Keeping the standard carb and simply buying bigger jets (those should be about right with a 70cc kit) and an uprated air filter.
I can't stress enough how important it is to run in your 70cc kit properly, if you don't you will seize it or break something within a matter of weeks or even days!
And make sure that you turn the oil pump screw out (anti-clockwise) to allow a bit more oil into the engine.
Not including a new carb, the above parts should get any speedfight 2 up to about 55-60mph (again, around 100kph+), even up a hill I can still travel at 60mph ish (96kph).
The above parts cost roughly 290 Euro all together.
Cast Iron 70cc kit is stronger, but slower, than an Ally kit.
Standard Airbox works (most of the time) better than a open air filter.
Standard carb is better most of the time, just up-jet and adjust air-fuel mix screw.
Always check your spark plug, after changing to a 70cc kit buy a new spark plug check it once every 3 days and make sure it's a nice brown colour:
Spark plug colour guide.
If anything I would say that Polini are now offering as good parts as Malossi but at a better price. over the last few years I've seen their quality improve and their parts range massively increase.
It's up to you who you buy your products from though.
All the best,
Ben. ____________________ Sold: NRG 50cc, SR125cc, CBR125cc, Mito MK 1 125cc, Speedfight 50cc, Stomp 125cc, cbr125cc, NRG 172cc, CBF 125cc, Zip 70cc, stomp 140cc

He lives in Greece, don't think VOSA will care, lol.

Not true, if it's looked after then it will last ages, I ran a 70cc kit on my old moped 6 years ago, the lad that has it now is still using it!!
The hardest and most annoying thing to do will be the jetting of a new carb, hence why I said leave it.
I've been running a Polini cast iron 70cc air-cooled barrel with Leo Vince ZX exhaust, 35g in total on the rollers, .75x6mm jet on a 16.5 standard Del'lorto carb with open air filter.
I get no flat spots, not bogging out at full throttle, accelerates all the way to 70mph (on my clock, so true speed is about just over 60). ____________________ Sold: NRG 50cc, SR125cc, CBR125cc, Mito MK 1 125cc, Speedfight 50cc, Stomp 125cc, cbr125cc, NRG 172cc, CBF 125cc, Zip 70cc, stomp 140cc
