https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fly-screen-Suzuki-GSX-750-1200-1400-GS-500-E-GN-250-blk-/140493173406?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item20b60bb29e

Do you think that this will do okay for some wind buffeting? I'm planning on doing a bit of travelling over this summer and just want a bit of wind protection. Does this look of a good standard? Will it help aerodynamics etc?

Cheers,
Tom.

It'll be ok. Nothing extraordinary but it will take some of the strain off your neck assuming its set correctly.

Not sure if they still carry them but I brought one from Hein Geriecke and it only cost about £22.

Not sure this is really a workshop topic but there we go...

It looks like it will force more wind towards your torso and head rather then deflect it. Id go for something a bit taller if I was you.

yeah ive got one on the bandit12 and a taller one on the cb1000
i find the taller one directs air directly to my helmet so i have to duck a bit
when you go fast,

to be fair you dont really need any sort of fairing untill about 100-120 region

but go for gold, its better than spending your money on anodised tat

the best money you can spend on a gs500 is a new rear shock, either from a rgv250, a gsx750 or a yellow sv650 shock, completely changes the bike, and for probably less money than that screen.

fender extender and hand/brush guards are always money well spent,
and crash bars, (not those stupid little mush rooms) they saved my gs in 3 crashes that other wise would have written it off, plus you can mount some fold down pegs attached for those long boring rides

Yeah i only thought of the screen as was suggested by a few people i know. My rear shock isn't standard anyway, previous owner must have changed it.

I will have a look at the others, cheers buddy Thumbs Up

A smal fly screen is a good addition to a naked bike. I added one to both my GS500 and my MZ 250.

Makes things a lot more pleasant on dual carriageways, and I think it looks quite good too.

You may be surprised at how much of a difference it makes. Certainly helped to make motorway riding more tolerable on a naked bike.

I do a lot of miles on GS's on motorways and A roads.. my previous one had no screen. After it got written off I got another one with screen (similar to the one on the MZ pics), it was clear on the first rides the difference between the bikes, you wont need to hang that much on the handle bars since the wind goes to your neck/head and not directly to your chest.

I put a PUIG Universal Mini Sports Touring screen on my 125 and liked it.

Since then, I've made taller custom screens for all of my bikes, and find it makes a big difference. Bit of perspex, hacksaw and heat gun and you get the exact size and shape of screen that you want.
