i was about 500 yards from my house yesterday and while going round a roundabout I heard a loud twang and the clutch pedal went straight to the floor. I managed to coast part of the way then switch it off, put it in gear and start it and drive off.

My first guess was the clutch cable had snapped, but I've checked that and it is fine, but I did notice the arm the cable attaches to is just flapping around with a bit of a clunking sound.

I can't really afford to start buying more and more parts, so I figured I would throw it out to some of the proper mechanics on here first to see if I need to pay for the whole clutch kit or should I be looking at something else.

Hi

Do you mean the arm going into the gearbox / clutch area? If so then maybe the arm has sheared off or maybe the thrust bearing has worn through the clutch. Either case the gearbox needs to come off and if I were going that far I would replace the clutch anyway.

All the best

Keith
