Well today turned into a bit of a washout but I got some photos so I thought I'd write it up anyway!

I'd posted in the North section to try and get a meet going for the Cat and Fiddle so I could find out where all the best roads are around here (Wales apparently Laughing) and there were a few people interested depending on the weather. So obviously it rained all morning!

I'd arranged to meet Dilyan at the Hilton in Manchester city centre (as that's how we roll Wink ) and he was the only one who hadn't pulled out so after me sorting out my girlfriends mini (£200!!!) bus pass crisis I went to meet him.

After some brief introductions we set off down the A6 towards Stockport and stopped for cash at a Texaco.

And then carried on down the A523 to the bottom of the A537 at Macclesfield. I decided to get my camera out at this point to photograph the most dangerous road in Britain!

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_5233.jpg

We stopped for a break and a quick drink at the Cat and Fiddle to see if anyone else had come up but no joy!

Dilyan at the CaF:

And me looking like an old man:

It started brightening up at this point so Dilyan suggested we rode the A54 to Congleton as it's a bit twistier and scenic than just heading back down into Macclesfield! Dilyan showed me a nice layby for a break if I'm ever up around there by myself.

And after a quick break we carried on down to Congleton.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_5259.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_5320.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_5326.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_5341.jpg

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/IMG_5363.jpg

The roads had dried and we had a pretty good ride down to Congleton but got a bit caught up in some traffic. We decided to keep it short today and Dilyan sent me on way back towards Manchester at Congleton. At least I now know of some twisty roads closer to home so thanks for showing me around a bit today Dilyan!

Does my a$$ look big in these? Laughing

Nice write up, excellent pics, especially having in mind how they were taken Cool

Glad we kept it short, as heavens opened 20 minutes after I got in.

Hopefully better weather on the way, and better turn up!

Hand held! I rode one handed and held the camera in my clutch hand and just snapped a few off, not a very high success rate especially on roads I'd never ridden before but I still got some ok shots! None of this GoPro rubbish though Laughing

Yeah it was pretty grim a bit later on but then it dried up even more Laughing

The cat and fiddle isn't that good of a road imo. There's plenty better roads in that area. I'll have to show you when/if i get my bike running again.

Some bikes just look manlier than others don't they. I'll bet that's even got a hairy radiator.

I'm probably making some kind of statement about myself with this bike then... Not intentional whatever it may be though!

Ha ha, well I had the strap around my neck as well so it wasn't so bad. My main concerns are chippings/stones being flicked up from the road/sudden rainstorms or just riding roads 1 handed as the best shots seem to be at the more extreme lean angles or higher speeds!

Best way to try it is with one of those disposables but then the quality won't be great and you'd have to get them developed Laughing

Might try it with an old one one day

Nice shots! Beautiful countryside;
and nice bikes! Very Happy

I used to enjoy rides out with some mates; but, they seem less appealing than ever now. Everyone else is getting quicker and I'm only ever getting slower. Sad

Hehe, aww-well. Razz
Got to love the rain. Wink Without it, the sunny days would look a little less bright.
