Hi, just bought an LED bulb from that there ebay, it's supposed to be a BA20d fitment, and it does fit, but...
The bulb beam doesn't seem to alter between dip and main, just the intensity of the LEDs. As it seems to not have a proper dip/main beam would you also be of the opinion that this would fail an MOT?
Only asking as I think I'll be sending it back as "not fit for purpose".
I'll post pics tonight as it's a bit sunny here at the mo.

Manuel, he say:

"Reason for rejection: b. operation of the dip switch does not [...] (ii) deflect the main beam/s to make them dipped beam/s."

See also the headlamp patterns.

Dunno, really. That'd be one for your local MOT chap.

IMHO you'd be better off with a halogen BA20d or even a Xenon.
Just get the right wattage, 25/25w or 25/35w usually.

I can't see a LED throwing out more light than a Halogen or Xenon for a main/dipped. Usually more light is what you need if you intend riding after dark. Keep LEDs for side, instruments, indicators and/or brake IMHO

Go get a lamp from halfords £6:50. Mine is bloody bright, can see it light road signs in daylight. Check for forums suggesting problems with these as headlights.

Those LED lamps won't work with a standard reflector and lens.

I got an 11W one for the TZR and it was so shocking I immediately binned it and bought a HID.

I had one of halfrauds finest xenon ones in there, but it blew, slung the standard one back in, thought I'd give an LED a go. It's going back in the post tomorrow, and I'll get another one over the weekend.

I've been using a 35/35 Xenon BA20D bulb off eBay in my YBR, far better than the original bulb.
