Hey All,
Just bought my first bike. A used Hyosung GT125R. My speedo needle "Shakes"? from 10kph under to 10kph over my true speed. What aare some things I can check out to possibly remedy this?
Thanks!

Do these have a mechanical speedo drive? Is there a speedo cable as such? I'd wager that the drive dog on the end is worn. It's probably supposed to be square but I expect the corners are worn away.

I can't imagine a replacement cable would be expensive.

Check that the speedo cable is tight at both ends and that it is lubricated. Failing that it could be the speedo drive itself?

Anyone?

Willson

Edit: I changed the speedo cable on my marauder after I knackered the old one (left a padlock around the front disc...). Afterward it exhibited this behaviour...

I found mine did this just before the cable snapped. I think when there is only one strand left, it acts a bit like a spring, making it wobble.

O/T any idea why EVERY time I go over 72mph Very Happy the speedo incorrectly jumps upto 90mph. It does not fully drop back down unless I slow down below 60mph. Its quite arkward when it happens just after overtaking someone.....
