mounting a new engine

just got a brand new engine for my boys pit and its slightly different mountings.

The old engine mounts were 80mm wide with a 5mm rubber bushing with a metal sleeve inside aprox 7mm dia - same as the bolts. The new engine has 90mm wide mountings drilled at 7mm dia so amounting to the same apart from the rubber mountings - is this anything to worry about or is it ok to solid mount it?

Most bigger engines are solid mounts. In fact. I've only seen rubber or other soft mountings on cars.

I doubt it's anything to worry about unless it vibrates enough to shake the frame to bits.

Never heard of rubber mounts on pitbike engines before. Just mount the engine it will be fine.

Sometimes with bigger CC engines you will need to open up the frame mounts a smidge.
If the bolts are a bit thin, also nothing to worry about. The bolts i used in one of mine are quite thin, but then again the same goes for most pitbikes unless you get some from a nut and bolt store.

Or if in doubt and feel like an upgrade. NSR125 engine like mine (still neeeds a lot of work)

di think it was ok but just one of those things where you have a little bit of doubt, bought new bolts anyway for it as the old ones were stripped a little.
